I mainly write fantasy adventure fiction with a dark and comedic bent. I strive for fast-paced stories, often tales of revenge and redemption, and I always try to push them as far as possible. I love building rich, complex worlds and then populating them with compelling heroes, conflicted anti-heroes and memorable villains. Ultimately, I aim to drop jaws.
I recently published my dark fantasy action/adventure novel, HELL HUNTER. I’m also working on another yet-to-be-named fantasy adventure tale, but it’s got a long way to go. My comedy screenplay BAD REFS (story by Scott Clemens & David Oden) is currently in development. In the past, my feature thriller script COYOTE ISLAND was optioned by a small production company. I’ve also written a couple other feature scripts that are worth a read: the dystopian mayhem of KILLTOWN and the sci-fi shooter RUN & GUN. Both received positive feedback from producers and peers.
I earned my Bachelors degree in English (Creative Writing) from the University of Washington. I’ve also been involved with Second City and even performed a little stand-up. I’ve dabbled in just about every type of writing over the years, from print journalism to poetry to greeting card writing. These days, I earn my living as a producer in the trenches of unscripted television. While far from glamorous, my job gives me the opportunity to hone my storytelling skills every day. I write fast, work hard and have no ego. I’m an easygoing guy and fun to collaborate with.
